1. What we collect

When you use FieldFleet, we may collect: your name, email address and phone number, location (town/province), account login details, photographs and descriptions you upload for Listings, and basic technical information such as device type and pages visited (for analytics).

2. How we use it

  • To create and manage your account;
  • To display your Listings to other Users;
  • To allow buyers and sellers to contact each other (including via the WhatsApp contact option, which opens a chat directly between you and the other User, FieldFleet does not store the contents of these chats);
  • To process subscription and listing fee payments via our payment processor, Paystack;
  • To send you service-related communications, such as billing notices or listing expiry reminders;
  • To understand site usage and improve the platform (anonymised analytics).

3. Payment information

FieldFleet does not collect or store your card or bank details. Payments are processed directly by Paystack, a licensed payment service provider operating in South Africa, under their own privacy and security policies.

4. Sharing your information

Your name, location, and contact details attached to a Listing are visible to other Users so they can contact you about a sale. We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share information with service providers who help us run the platform (such as hosting and payment processing) or where required by law.

5. Your rights under POPIA

You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, request that it be corrected or deleted, and object to certain uses of it. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@fieldfleet.co.za. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa if you believe your information has been mishandled.

6. Cookies, analytics and tracking

FieldFleet uses a small amount of browser storage to make the site work — for example to keep you signed in and to remember listings you have saved. This is necessary for the service to function.

We also use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used in aggregate: which pages are visited, which categories are searched, and whether adverts are being seen. This helps us decide what to build next and lets us show dealers how many people viewed their stock. Google Analytics sets its own cookies and may process this information outside South Africa. We do not use it to identify you personally, and we do not sell this data.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser add-on. Blocking essential storage may stop you from signing in or saving listings.

We do not run third-party advertising on FieldFleet and we do not allow advertisers to track you across other websites.

7. Data security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information, but no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted over the internet.

8. Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active, or as needed to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by updating the date at the top of this page.

10. Contact / Information Officer

For privacy questions or to exercise your rights under POPIA, contact our Information Officer, Ryno Lategan, at hello@fieldfleet.co.za or +27 60 909 3945, 19 Arnoldi Street, Heidelberg, Gauteng.

You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) at complaints.IR@inforegulator.org.za or inforegulator.org.za. Our PAIA manual is available here.
